I am known as Laurissa to my friends and family, but I also go by "Mommy" to my wonderful son Freddie, who's 3, and my new baby Reece. The first anniversary of my 29th birthday will be early next year ;) My husband Fred and I recently bought our very first house, and are navigating our way through parenting and home ownership together! My interests mostly revolve around my kids and my house. I am always reading parenting books and magazines, and looking for new ways to be a better mommy. I love collecting recipes (especially for my slow cooker which I LOVE!), cleaning tips, etc. I am also always on the lookout for good ways to organize that stuff! I also belong to several wonderful online communities where I can chat with other moms, which is really a lifesaver sometimes! Usually my husband and I find at least one night a week where the kids are both in bed and we can spend some time together - we like to listen to music, drink wine, and just talk. We also like to watch movies when we can, so we're always looking for movies that look interesting and original. Like most people, we watch way too much TV in our house, and we're big fans of Tivo - no commercials! One of my guilty pleasures is All My Children - I Tivo it every day and watch it every night when my boys are asleep. We also enjoy 24 and The Simpsons, but during the daytime hours it seems our TV is consistently showing either Spongebob Squarepants or The Backyardigans ;) I also love to read, but it takes me awhile to get through a book these days. I am always reading something though!
